If you know more lines from Star Wars then you do from the Bible then this book is for you! Years ago I became frustrated with the number of commentaries that seemingly required a degree in something Biblical to be easily read by the average believer.

Since I had such a degree, and was seemingly able to relate to an 'average person' people who should have known better encouraged me to write a commentary that they could read and enjoy.

So I did. And I included stories from my life, and some from theirs, to help illustrate what the Bible is trying to say to us today. Will you agree with all of it? Probably not. The Bible is a big book actually it is a collection of books and I can't think of one theologian I fully agree with on everything either.

But at least you will understand what you disagree with, and that is valuable as well. The context and history of each passage is explained, 'real life' examples are given and points to ponder are put forth so that the reader may examine what the teaching means when applied to their life. It was written to be a fun, thought-provoking run through the scriptures, jam packed with information, for people who have had little time to take an in-depth look at scripture themselves.

Waltner Psalms Author : James H. James Waltner's immense study of the Psalms merits close attention and wide use. It is a commentary that is well informed on critical issues but, more importantly, is alive and alert to theological, pastoral concerns. Waltner reads the Psalms in and for the church, and makes connections that will serve the pastoral, liturgical, devotional life of the church.

Matties Publisher: MennoMedia, Inc. In an age of fear and insecurity, in which ethnic nationalism continues to give rise to conflict and war, we dare not avoid critical engagement with biblical texts that have been used to justify colonialism, conquest, occupation, and ethnic cleansing.

Building on the idea of Scripture as dialogue partner, Matties advocates for the book of Joshua even as he engages in a difficult conversation with it. In his commentary, the twenty-fifth volume in the Believers Church Bible Commentary series, Matties calls for an openness to the unexpected in the book of Joshua. He suggests that reading Joshua carefully will open windows into how and why we read Scripture at all.

Many people who make a decision for Christ do not remain in Him. Why are so many backsliding and falling away? Why is it that for many, a decision to make Christ their Lord and Savior does not result in a changed life?

Pastor and teacher Troy Edwards believes that it is due to our failure to disciple new believers and teach them the BASICS - the foundational truths needed to empower us to live victorious Christian lives. This book provides a resource pastors, group leaders and mature lay leaders with foundational truths. It is in outline form and is meant to be studied along with one's opened Bible. This book can be used in both a group setting and for individual study.

The Believers Church Bible Commentary Series is intended for pastors, Sunday school teachers, Bible study leaders, and other persons interested in careful Bible study.

The series is set in a world with an alternate history, where magic exists and has been polished through modern technology. However, the ability to use magic is determined by genetics, limiting the amount of magicians in existence.

In Japan, the magic community is informally governed by the ten master clans in lieu of the government. Due to the limited amount of magicians, they are treated as commodity and are forced to enter magic related schools and professions.

Nine magic high schools exist in Japan; they each specialize in different aspects of magic and are simply referred to by their numbers. The story follows Tatsuya Shiba, a bodyguard to his sister Miyuki Shiba who is also a candidate to succeed the master clan, Yotsuba.
